Over the last 30 years, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) and the University of New Hampshire (UNH) have collected and compiled a multitude of water quality and quantity information regarding the surface waterbodies of the state. This web site was developed to provide this data as well as general information about watersheds and how they are monitored to the scientific and regulatory communities and to the public.

To make this a reality, the information collected by both NHDES and UNH was consolidated into a comprehensive, accurate, comparable and accessible format. In the future, other appropriate databases will be integrated into this web site in cooperation with other agencies and organizations that collect and maintain water quality and quantity data for New Hampshire.

NHDES and UNH hope that this web site will provide opportunities for educational programs as well as outreach and training, will facilitate cooperation among agencies and organizations within New Hampshire as well as within New England, and will foster information exchange between the scientific community and laypersons in New Hampshire, the US, and around the globe.
